Publication Ethics

The Proceeding of National Innovation Conference on Economics and Business (NICEBIS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. This guideline follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aims to ensure the integrity of research dissemination.

1. Duties of Authors

Authors submitting to NICEBIS must adhere to the following ethical standards:

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and data fabrication are strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship: Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the research should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version before submission.
  • Data Integrity: Authors must provide accurate and verifiable data. Manipulation or falsification of research results is unethical.
  • Conflict of Interest: Any financial or personal conflicts of interest that may influence the research should be disclosed.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper citation of all referenced works and acknowledgment of funding sources are required.

2. Duties of Editors

Editors play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the publication process:

  • Fair and Objective Decision-Making: Manuscripts must be evaluated based on academic merit without discrimination.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must ensure that all submissions remain confidential during the review process.
  • Plagiarism and Ethical Screening: Editors must ensure that manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection using tools like Turnitin or iThenticate.
  • Conflict of Interest Management: Editors must avoid handling papers where conflicts of interest exist.

3. Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers are responsible for conducting fair, unbiased, and confidential assessments of submitted manuscripts:

  • Double-Blind Review: Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts without knowing the identity of the authors, ensuring an impartial review process.
  • Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback to improve the quality of submissions.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents and not shared or discussed outside the review process.
  • Ethical Concerns: Reviewers must report any suspected plagiarism, research misconduct, or conflicts of interest.

4. Duties of Publisher & Conference Organizer

The NICEBIS organizing committee and publisher ensure ethical compliance and integrity in the publication process by:

  • Ensuring Academic Integrity: Upholding ethical publication practices and preventing any form of malpractice.
  • Maintaining Archival Standards: Ensuring all published works are properly archived and indexed for long-term accessibility.
  • Handling Ethical Complaints: Investigating and taking appropriate actions in cases of research misconduct, plagiarism, or disputes.

Ethical Violation and Retraction Policy

NICEBIS Proceedings follows COPE guidelines in handling ethical violations:

  • Plagiarism or Data Fabrication: Articles found with serious ethical breaches will be retracted.
  • Authorship Disputes: Resolutions will follow COPE recommendations.
  • Corrections and Retractions: Necessary corrections will be issued if errors are found post-publication.

By adhering to these ethical guidelines, NICEBIS ensures that all published research maintains the highest standards of academic integrity and credibility.
