Plagiarism Policy
The Proceeding of National Innovation Conference on Economics and Business (NICEBIS) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and originality in all published research. To uphold these standards, NICEBIS strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct plagiarism: Copying text, figures, or ideas from other sources without proper citation.
- Self-plagiarism: Republishing one’s own previously published work without significant modifications or proper acknowledgment.
- Mosaic plagiarism: Using phrases or ideas from another source with minor modifications but without proper citation.
- Improper paraphrasing: Rewriting content from another source without proper attribution.
- Fabrication and falsification: Manipulating or inventing data, references, or results.
2. Plagiarism Screening Process
- All submitted manuscripts will undergo a plagiarism check using Turnitin, iThenticate, or other plagiarism detection tools.
- The acceptable similarity index is ≤ 20% (excluding references).
- If plagiarism is detected (>20%), the manuscript will be rejected immediately or returned to the author for revision.
- Authors must ensure proper citation of all referenced materials.
3. Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is identified at any stage (before or after publication), the following actions will be taken:
- Minor plagiarism (<20%): The manuscript will be sent back for revision with a warning.
- Moderate plagiarism (20-40%): The manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be banned from submitting for a certain period.
- Severe plagiarism (>40%):
- The manuscript will be rejected immediately.
- If the paper has already been published, it will be retracted from the NICEBIS Proceedings.
- The author’s institution will be notified about the unethical practice.
4. Author Responsibility
- Authors must ensure that their manuscript is original and properly cited.
- If using previously published material, authors must obtain permission and cite the source correctly.
- If multiple authors are involved, all must agree and verify the originality of the manuscript.
5. Retraction and Correction Policy
- If plagiarism is discovered after publication, NICEBIS will issue a retraction notice and remove the article from its database.
- If plagiarism is unintentional, authors may be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit their work.
